Management of a case of large uterine leiomyoma with deep vein thrombosis

Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is a potentially fatal condition. The association of this condition with uterine leiomyoma has rarely been reported in the medical literature. In report we present rare case left lower limb DVT 30-year-old woman large fibroid. She sub fertile for 8 years and had history heavy menstrual bleeding 6 months. Examination revealed 20-week size abdominopelvic mass. developed DVT, 3 months back imaging investigation confirmed femoral vein. was on an oral anticoagulant. patient successfully managed Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter insertion abdominal myomectomy. Multidisciplinary involvement involving gynaecologist, haematologist, interventional radiologist anaesthetist are crucial successful outcome.
